Aaron is a champion that fights day after day against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Get to know his story!
Aarón was diagnosed with his disease at the age of 9. Since then, he has been constantly in and out of the Children's Oncology Unit of Vall d'Hebron.
Living in Tarragona, almost 100km from the hospital, his family encountered some chaotic obstacles during Aaron’s treatment. His parents have accompanied him, taking turns to be by his side during the admissions, while also continuing caring for Aaron's little sister who was still back at home. The hospital rooms are not very spacious, since the rooms are shared and only have a sofa bed for the families to rest. Even now, because of COVID, there is no possibility of visitors and he had to stay in isolation for an excessive amount of time.
But our Aarón always kept his spirits high, smiles non-stop, and is also very happy with the work being done in the Oncology Unit of the Vall d'Hebron, he has loved the project!
Aaron has recently finished his treatment and now only has to visit the hospital every 15 days for oral chemo.
He is happy to be able to return home and rest there, surrounded by his family, his games, and his books.
